Yahki Awakened promotes a holistic health philosophy centered on detoxification, cellular regeneration, and spiritual elevation through diet. His dietary guidelines emphasize natural, plant-based foods that are free from mucus-forming properties. But which foods does he recommend that you eat?
Who is Yahki Awakened?
Yah'ki Rapha Elohim, better known as Yahki Awakened is a holistic health advocate who promotes a diet centered on "electrical" or alkaline foods to support cellular regeneration and detoxification.
The journey that led Yahki on his path is an interesting one. Raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Yahki became entangled in gang activities during his youth. He has openly discussed engaging in behaviors such as drug dealing and other criminal activities, which he later recognized as detrimental to his well-being and community. This lifestyle led to his incarceration in 2009, marking a period of reflection and the beginning of his spiritual awakening.
At the age of 21, Yahki suffered a heart attack, a pivotal event that forced him to confront the consequences of his lifestyle choices. Medical professionals warned him of the high risk of a subsequent, potentially fatal, heart attack. The medications prescribed for his recovery caused side effects that impacted his quality of life, prompting him to seek alternative healing methods.
Motivated to regain his health, Yahki immersed himself in the study of natural remedies and holistic health practices. He was particularly influenced by the teachings of Dr. Sebi, which emphasized the importance of an alkaline, mucus-free diet. Through rigorous detoxification and dietary changes, Yahki not only restored his own health but also began assisting others in his community to do the same.
Yahki Awakened’s Core Dietary Principles
1. Alkaline, Mucus-Free Diet
Yahki advocates for a diet rich in organic, alkaline fruits, vegetables, and herbs, asserting that these foods support the body's natural healing processes. He advises against consuming mucus-forming and acid-forming foods, such as dairy, meat, processed grains, and starches, which he believes contribute to disease by creating internal blockages.
2. Detoxification and Cellular Regeneration
Central to his philosophy is the concept of "intracellular detoxification," aiming to cleanse the body at the cellular level. This involves eliminating accumulated toxins and mucus to restore optimal bodily functions.
3. Herbal Support
Yahki incorporates the use of wild-crafted herbs and tonics to aid in detoxification and support various bodily systems. He has created products like the Digestive Restoration Tonic which is designed to address issues such as mucus plaque, inflammation, and digestive disturbances.
Yahki Awakened Quotes
Yahki Awakened has become an online phenomenon due to his charismatic personality, abundance of knowledge and his ability to articulate his views and beliefs. Here are some powerful quotes that display his ethos on healthy eating:
“You’re eating mucus-forming foods. You’re eating acidic-forming food. You’re in a toxic environment. You’re putting things inside your body that’s not supposed to be in your body.”
“I want you to innerstand, overstand and understand what food is. Food is something that builds back up your physical structure and food is something that gives you energy for the cells or the mitochondria.”
“Food is information. The food that you put in your body is what becomes your RNA or MRNA which is your messenger so literally you are what you eat, and you think what you eat.”
“Remember color is frequency and frequency alters personality and the electrical currency out of your body. Colorful foods is always good foods.”
“The less you eat the better. Even though you eat less you’re supposed to eat more nutritionally dense foods that work for our body.”
“Never eat to be full. Always leave a little space in that stomach for hunger.”
“People who switch over to more of a plant-based diet start looking better, wrinkles leave, especially when they start doing more exercising and burning visceral fat – they actually look younger. So, you start aging backwards. Aging sounds like a disease when you think about it.”
“If you want to detox – your citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, limes, key limes, grapefruits, green grapes, red grapes – all of these are astringent. They’ll pull all of the acids out of the tissues and rebuild the molecular structure.”
“The berry kingdom is like god created them just for neurological regeneration and neurological function.”
What Does Yahki Awakened Eat?
Yahki Awakened recommends we eat a wide variety of natural foods to nourish our body but let’s look at the specific foods he eats on a daily basis.
Fasting
The holistic health expert eats all his meals in a window that is usually between four and six hours long. He spends a large part of the day in a fasted state.
He says: “I only eat after 12. I break my fast or “break fast” after 12pm…I do all my exercise in a fasted state. I have an eating window between 12pm and 4pm.”
“The reason why I work out in a fasted state is because you produce human growth hormone quicker and that’s what helps grow your muscle, tone your muscle and build new protein. When you work out after you eat, you’re doing nothing but burning calories that are in your bloodstream – your body’s trying to burn off the calories you just ate.”
Yahki prefers to exercise in a fasted state, but another reason he performs daily intermittent fasting is to reduce the amount of work his digestive system has to do.
He explains: “The whole ideology of eating three meals a day is absurd. We don’t have the digestive capacity not the digestive energy from calories and from our intrinsic nervous system to keep our digestive system working to break down that food.”
Yahki’s First Meal of the Day
Yahki Awakened breaks his fast with a “Dragon Fruit Bowl” which consists of a base of dragon fruit, pumpkin seeds, bananas, cacao nibs, strawberries and blueberries. He tops it off with either honey or maple syrup, and coconut flakes.
He says: “My first meal is always a Dragon Fruit bowl. The thing I love about dragon fruit is it’s very low on the glycemic index. It’s around a 60 so it won’t spike your blood sugar. The good thing about it is it has so many digestive enzymes it’s going to make you “go”. Give it an hour and you’re going to go to the bathroom.”
What are the benefits of each food that makes up Yahki’s Dragon Fruit Bowl?
Pumpkin Seeds
“The reason I love pumpkin seeds is because they have every essential mineral that you need. Pumkin seeds has every last one of your trace minerals.”
Bananas
“Bananas are for potassium and magnesium… I like to use bananas that are ripe. They can be a little mucus forming so if you’re healing from a chronic illness leave the bananas out”
Cacao Nibs
“I love cacao nibs because they increase dopamine and serotonin. Cacao nibs are amazing If you want to be happy – have cacao nibs. They’re also good for testosterone and libido.”
Strawberries
“Strawberries are low on the glycemic index, they are packed with vitamin C, they regulate the blood system, they’re good for the mind, and the high levels of antioxidants is just amazing.”
Blueberries
“Blueberries have got a bunch of anthocyanins in them that give them their purple colour. They’re good for blood circulation, high in antioxidants, have age reversing properties in them, good for digestion, good for libido, and good for your brain”
Honey or Maple Syrup
“Top it off with honey or maple syrup. Honey never gets old. They kept it in tombs in Egypt for thousands of years in buckets and it was still sweet and ready to eat. Honey is a natural probiotic or what they call antibiotic. It’s good for good bacteria (in the gut). I use Manuka Honey.”
Coconut Flakes
“I oversaturate the top of it with coconut flakes. Coconuts have fatty acids. It’s good for the brain and coconut is the closet to a mother’s breast milk.”
Yahki’s Main Meal
Yahki Awakened eats his second and final meal between 4pm-6pm before fasting until his eating window begins at around 12pm the next day.
He explains: “I usually eat again around 4pm-6pm. I always add broccoli to every one of my meals. I don’t know anything that’s more nutritional on Earth than broccoli, especially broccoli sprouts. When you chop into broccoli or broccoli sprouts them it releases these chemicals called sulforaphane which is full of sulfuric acid and another one called glucoraphanin. What this does is open up NRF2 pathways of your body and helps you detoxify.”
His final meal usually consists of multigrain quinoa, broccoli, cauliflower, avocado, bell peppers, red onion and almond butter.
