What Does Bobby Parrish Eat?
Bobby Parrish puts great importance on the quality of ingredients he uses. His motto and something he believes everyone should be doing is “Making healthy food that actually tastes good!”
The home cook is known for his attention to detail and recommends that we carefully check the ingredients labels on all food produce. He avoids anything that states GMO and that is highly processed, eating as organic as possible. When it comes to meat, he buys cuts from animals that have been raised as humanely and healthily as possible. “Grass fed”, “pasture raised” and “organic” are three phrases that indicate food has been produced to higher standards.
Bobby Parrish recommends avoiding any seed oils as they can be highly inflammatory. Many processed foods include these oils. He suggests avoiding anything that contains these cheap processed oils. He says: “When you see oils like sunflower, safflower, grapeseed and canola oil – run Forrest run! Because these are highly processed oils refined with so much heat and so much pressure that they contain free radicals, and they are incredibly inflammatory.”
When it comes to fruit and vegetables Bobby Parrish buys organic where possible to avoid the high amount of pesticides they come into contact with. However, he uses the “Clean Fifteen” and “Dirty Dozen” lists for guidance when it comes to fruit and veg. If an item is listed in the “dirty dozen” he makes sure he buys organic, if it’s in the “clean fifteen” he’s happy to buy standard produce.
